That Facebook Page posting hourly, or Twitter account posting every 15 minutes? Forget about it. Maybe it works for accounts with 100,000’s of followers, but it doesn’t work for the average business using social media marketing.
Why is post frequency important? As Neil Patel says,
If you post too infrequently, your audience will forget that you exist and you will quickly fade into the deep dark recesses of their minds. However, if you are posting too often, you will become a complete nuisance and they will dread seeing your posts overcrowding their feed.
So here’s what the research says, to help you get this right.
Note: The “ideal” frequency depends entirely on your business goals and the amount of time that you are willing to commit to your social media marketing efforts.

Aw, this was a really nice post. In idea I would like to put in writing like this additionally ? taking time and actual effort to make a very good article? but what can I say? I procrastinate alot and by no means seem to get something done.
I carefully using the social media especially on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks to the informative blog and really helps me a lot, to the ones who have been careless and abusing the social media. I only post one quality content and that’s enough.
Honestly, since I manage a blog and a page I make it a point that I post consistently and interesting posts. Posts that keep your subscribers or followers interact by giving their suggestions and comments. How often really depends on my mood for that day but for a certain limits (2-3 the most) so that people who follow you won’t get annoyed by unnecessary posts. There are times I love to post a minimum of 3 but I always make sure there is at least 1 to keep your followers connected and updated. I have read in another article that to keep your subscribers and followers you must at least post a thing for the them to remember you that day. So one post isn’t that hard its just a matter of consistency.
How often should I post on social media as a business owner? As you have put it Jalena, there are a lot of factors to be considered in order to have the ideal answer. It is quite alright to post frequently on social media and promote your business.Quality of content is paramount, excessive quantity will get you banned for spam.Let us consider a social network such as Facebook.Remember,Facebook is also a business just like the business you want to promote. The only difference is that it is much more profitable.
Since we are focusing on Facebook,it is important to discuss the right way of marketing using this platform. You can either mention your business in your posts and provide all relevant information about it then wait for people’s comments and reactions to your posts.Another method you can use is provide the information in the first example, then add links to your own website.Which one do you think is better?
Let me give you a rough idea.In the first case you are more likely to succeed.People will see your information, ask questions and develop an interest in your business. In the second scenario, your account on Facebook will be deactivated for posting spam.Copying links to other sites and pasting them on Facebook is not right.Think of Facebook as a hospitality business and you as the owner of Facebook.A man politely asks for a space in your hospitality business to market his own business. Then the guy makes a hole in your fence that leads to his premises.Won’t you kick the guy out?You may even consider reporting him to the police for misconduct. This is what posting links on Facebook seems like.It is what Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Facebook feels like when people misuse his platform.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing! But honestly I don’t post much on social media. Now I know the pros and cons.
Thanks for sharing these insights Jalena. This are some good recommendations. However, it all depends on what feedback you get from your audience/followers. Test how they react when you post more and when you post fewer posts. This will be the best guidance. Try to schedule different number of posts for each day of the week and see how your audience will react.

great info.. thanks for posting
This is a very informative post! Currently, I post pretty frequently on IG and FB. I also have a Pinterest account that I need to put more focus on. For some reason, when I try to do 3 posts on IG, I don’t get as big of a response on the third one as I do on the first two. So I think sticking to 2 posts per day on IG works best for me. Thanks for all of this great information! I’ll definitely use it going forward.
thanks for this great info now I can monitor how I post daily with social media
